What's Coming in 2018
It's going to be an interesting year, and we're going to continue solving some of the biggest problems in dermatology. Some highlights of what's coming:
January: a M. Methylotrophus probiotic hits the market to promote general metabolic and digestive health. Our teledermatology platform goes live again January 1st.
February: Enrollment opens for Solvoda, an enzyme replacement therapy clinical trial for those with a specific enzyme deficiency; a patent is in the process of being filed. Our SuperSkin nutritional supplement will be in retail stores throughout Seattle by this time as well.
March-May: Our 8th annual distribution of SunSafe kits on 100 college campuses in the US and Canada. This year, we're sharing Kauraderma sunscreen and providing discount codes to our Dermetel e-store. T-shirt purchases go towards supporting DermFilms and our life-saving Solvoda enzyme replacement therapy. We will be working closely with sorority organizations devoted to reducing incidence rates of their members using indoor tanning beds through a number of projects we will announce soon.
June: 4th annual SunSafe Race in Whistler, BC.
July: 2nd annual Camp Groovy in Seaside, OR. This year's theme is "Love The Skin You're In" and we will be featuring meditation and surfing classes in addition to arts and crafts. Referral from a board-certified pediatrician or board-certified dermatologist is required for attendance.
August: 4th Annual Dermetel Gala in New York City where we will issue the Anant Bhavan Award to 3 important guests in dermatology, beauty editorial journalism, and skincare vlogging who have all taken amazing steps to reduce dermatologic health disparities.
September: DermFilms' first feature-length documentary film on dermatologic health disparities hits the Toronto International Film Festival.
October: Our estimated date for Solvoda jumping through the first hoops at the FDA, as we work to acquire approval. Dermetel's goal is to be the most cost-effective provider of this life-saving medication, so as to not exhaust patient's insurance limits. We are committed to making access as affordable as possible.
December: Dermetel Ski Trip at Deer Valley in Park City, Utah, for dermatologists seeking continuing education credit and learning more about dermatology health inequities.
